March 29, 2006.

RANDOLPH, NJ. Today OXFORD SOLAR filed the rebate application with New Jersey Board of Public Utilities on behalf of Vernon Township Board of Education.

The project involves the installation of a 500kW roof top photovoltaic system in two phases: phase one - installation of a 250kW system in 2006, and phase two – 250 kW in 2007. OXFORD SOLAR will provide engineering, materials and equipment required to complete the project, including permitting and the preparation of plans and drawings.

This project is the first step of a forward thinking, long-term plan of Vernon Township Board of Education not only to help save the environment, but also to dramatically cut down, or even eliminate, the usage of high-cost utilities by converting to alternative energy.

A 500kW solar electric system produces approximately 525,000 Kwhr/year. Using recent market prices for Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) of $0.18/Kwhr, this system’s RECs would bring $94,500 in revenue plus $63,000 in utility savings. All these numbers show that Vernon Township Board of Education is on a right track.

"New Jersey has one of the highest rebate programs for public and non-profit solar electric systems in the nation" - said Marc Redgate, President of Oxford Solar Eastern Division, a professional solar PV installer certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. "New Jersey schools and other educational centers are realizing that these generous rebates make the systems affordable, and substantial energy production helps reduce overall energy expenses. The utility rates continue to rise every year, and switching to alternative energy sources not only shields them from inflation, but also saves our precious national resources for future generations. The project for Vernon Township High School is proving that."
